In January 2012 British Shorts has once more presented the most exciting, funniest, strangest and thrilling short films from the home of dirty weather - Drama, comedy, thriller, animation, experimentals, docs, horror, science fiction and music videos straight from the island!
Also, for the first time in the festivals’ history two awards were given away. The winning films at British Shorts 2012 are Baby by Daniel Mulloy and A Morning Stroll by Grant Orchard.
Lichtspielklub Award for the best short film
The jury: Friederike Jehn (director of the award-winning film Weitertanzen), Kai Kollwitz (film critic at Flux FM) and Maria Eissner (freelance film journalist)
Winner: Daniel Mulloy for his film Baby (Drama, GB 2011, 25:00 min)
Statement from the director who unfortunately could not be present at the award ceremony:
All of the team that made 'BABY' are thrilled to win this award. I would like to thank the festival team for their hard work. They have made Lichtspielklub a great platform for British Short Films in Berlin and it is an honour to screen BABY here. Thank you to the Jury, the audience, and everybody that has put in the effort to make Lichtspielklub - British Short Film Festival.
